2018 Kevin's Lair

Kevin has been spending lots of time in the basement and we've been calling it his lair...so Pap made a sign. In the fall, I put the iPad away because Kevin was spending too much time on it and rarely getting up to play with his toys. It was increasingly difficult to spend constructive time on the iPad or on anything with him instead of him zoning out on the iPad. It's all he wanted to do and he would rush through things to get back to it. In the fall, I had gone to a class on the brain and it reminded me what my instincts were already telling me and it gave me the push to put it away. It didn't take him long to adjust and I much rather him spend time with his toys. He gets lots of exercise too because he goes up and down the steps bringing toys up and down and going upstairs to hang out. I replaced all the dead batteries in his toys and they keep him very busy. I even noticed a change when we are out of the house. The iPad addiction may also have been a contributor to the incidents in the car with him when he didn't want to go out or when we're coming home from an appointment and I need to make a stop at the store and he would have a fit....not sure if the iPad was a contributor to this behavior but I'm breathing easier in the car.

Kevin likes to hang out in the guest bedroom with his books
