Merry Christmas 2018

The word to describe 2018 is FREEDOM! We are doing so much more than we ever have...which feels great! In February, Kevin recovered very quickly from his third and last surgery to remove a growth plate from his right knee. It's all been worth it and we are seeing and experiencing the benefits. Kevin started therapy at KidsLink for PT, OT, SLP, ABA and continues with his original therapist's at the hospital. Kevin enjoys his music therapy, dance, and attending a new art class with 8th graders at IHM school at our church. Kevin can now independently steer his trike bike, ride a scooter with left hand assistance, and can walk a one mile trail...it's slow but he can do it! All this progress is having a positive impact on our family life. Our family photo is from a fall visit to Ohio University and Hocking Hills. I was overjoyed when we were able to walk a couple easy trails and Kevin loved being adventuresome and walking over the rocks...PT come to life! We enjoyed another G Family trip to the Outer Banks with a day in Washington D.C. Other fun activities this year included Cavs and Indians games, WaterWorks park, ride-along SoapBox derby car, Steam Train and Polar Express rides, an unforgettable night celebrating Grandee & Pap's 70th birthdays, watching our favorite senior marching band member perform in Indianapolis, collecting Lake Erie rocks with Grandma H (come visit and paint rocks with us for our garden), and for Jon and Karen an anniversary overnight at Maumme Bay State Park and a few concerts. When Kevin's cousin asked him what he wanted for Christmas, this 14 year old said VACATION. We're glad he enjoys going on all our family adventures!
