Children's hospital puts on an annual event at the zoo. This was our first time attending. I remember hearing from other families that it is one of their favorite events and I totally agree! It's held in the evening after the zoo is closed to the public. Kevin's dance group performed one song and then we got the rest of the night to enjoy the event. The zoo workers and volunteers were very friendly and we saw one of Kevin's old helpers (patterner and bit maker) from the very early days of his program. The hospital had some of their employee's stationed around the event and we got to see Kevin's fun speech therapist. We got to see where the grizzly bears sleep, eat, and watch their Disney movies. We rode the Train and Carousel at no charge! They had mascots walking around that were very patient with he kids and several stations to play games, or make a craft, and other fun things that most kids enjoy. But our favorite was an area high school championship percussion team. I was really impressed how good they were with the kids - handing out tambourins and letting them play on the drums and include them in their beats.
